A personal knowledge test uses the same science but without legal documentation — it’s for private answers only and cannot be used in any official proceedings.
What causes a prenatal DNA test to come back inconclusive?
A low fetal fraction is the most common reason — the lab didn’t find enough of the baby’s DNA in the mother’s blood sample. Testing too early, higher maternal body weight, or poor sample handling can all cause this. It doesn’t mean something is wrong. In most cases a second collection a week or two later solves the problem. We use AABB accredited lab standards to reduce this risk from the start.
Does the alleged father need to be present at the same time as the mother?
No, the mother and alleged father do not need to be in the same location. We can collect from each person separately at different times and locations across Columbia and the Midlands.
